About this experience
Visit Phuket Elephant Sanctuary, Phuket’s first ethical elephant sanctuary and a pioneer in ethical elephant tourism since 2016.
After a scenic drive through a local village, you will arrive at the Tree Top Lounge, where you can enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages. Here, you’ll watch an educational video that introduces you to the elephants and explains why their protection is so important.
Next, a dedicated guide will lead you and a small number of visitors into the sanctuary, where you’ll explore Thailand’s longest canopy walkway and walk along natural trails to locate the elephants. As you observe them foraging and bathing freely, your guide will share each elephant’s unique story.
You will also have the opportunity to visit Phuket’s first elephant hospital, where we care for our resident elephants and provide veterinary treatment to elephants across Southern Thailand.
From April 2026, we operate as a fully hands-off sanctuary. This approach allows elephants to live naturally, while you enjoy the unique experience of observing them bathe, play, and socialize on their own terms.

Good to know
- We provide socks, boots, as well as umbrellas and rain coats in case of rain. Mosquito spray, refreshments and filtered water is also provided. Please wear comfortable clothing to walk in, and bring a hat and sunscreen for protection.

From April 2026, the sanctuary operates as a fully hands-off environment, allowing visitors to observe elephants as they socialize, bathe, and play on their own terms.
It is recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a hat and sunscreen. The sanctuary provides mosquito spray, refreshments, water, socks, boots, and rain gear if necessary.
The sanctuary welcomes guests of all ages, categorized as infants (3 and younger), children (4-12), and adults (13-99).
