The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary (Mandala Suci Wenara Wana) in the heart of Ubud is a forest nature reserve and temple complex inhabited by over 700 free-roaming Balinese long-tailed macaques. Three Hindu temples stand within the forest, dating from the 14th century. The forest is considered sacred by the local Padangtegal village community and also serves as an active conservation area. Monday to Thursday pricing applies.

Things to know
- Keep phones, sunglasses, jewelry, hats, and loose items secure. Monkeys are known to grab them.
- Do not make direct eye contact with monkeys for long periods, as they may perceive it as a challenge.
- Do not bring plastic bags containing food.
