About this experience
Pura Tirtha Empul is Bali's most sacred water temple, famous for its holy spring water which has flowed continuously for over 1,000 years. Located in Tampaksiring, Ubud, the temple surrounds a large purification bathing complex where Balinese Hindus and visitors alike purify themselves by bathing in the spring-fed pools (melukat ritual). The water is believed to have purifying and healing properties.
