Georgia Honeymoon Package from India: What It Costs a Couple

If you're pricing a Georgia honeymoon package from India for two, budget roughly Rs 1.3 to 1.7 lakh for a simple 6-night trip, Rs 2.1 to 2.7 lakh for a comfortable one with a private driver, and Rs 3 to 4.1 lakh if you want a mountain-view suite in Kazbegi and a boutique night in Sighnaghi. That covers flights, visa, the mandatory insurance Georgia now requires, hotels and transport for both of you. It's not a per-person, land-only figure. These numbers are approximate, as of September 2026.

Georgia mostly prices in lari, and I've converted at roughly Rs 37 to the lari, the mid-market rate in the last week of September 2026. Flights and the e-visa price out in US dollars, at roughly Rs 96 to the dollar. Both rates move week to week, so treat every rupee figure here as approximate and recheck it before you pay a vendor directly.

The cost for two, line by line

This is the full six-night, seven-day bill for a Tbilisi, Kazbegi and Kakheti loop, not a flight-only number pulled from an ad. The budget tier keeps you in simple guesthouses and shared transport. Mid-range, the tier I'd pick for most couples, puts you in a small hotel in Tbilisi, a mountain lodge night in Kazbegi and a boutique night in Sighnaghi, with a private driver for both day trips. Splurge concentrates the spending on the two nights that matter most.

The hotel, transport and food rows are my estimates from typical rates, not quotes, so use them to compare tiers rather than to budget to the rupee.

Flights for two, and the nonstop claim you'll see in ads

Some package pages market a nonstop between India and Tbilisi. As of September 2026, Kayak's Mumbai and Delhi route pages both say there are no direct flights. IndiGo has run seasonal nonstops from Delhi, and some airline listings show them returning in October 2026, so check IndiGo's live schedule for your dates. Otherwise, budget for one stop, usually in Kuwait City, Sharjah or Baku. The quickest routing from Mumbai takes a little over 10 hours each way, and long layovers, or a Delhi departure, push it higher.

A round-trip economy fare from Mumbai has recently run about USD 363 to 565 per person, averaging close to USD 464. Plan on roughly Rs 70,000 to Rs 1,10,000 for two, more if your dates are fixed to a wedding calendar. The mid-range and splurge columns in the table assume that peak-date premium. If a package says flights are included, ask which city it departs from and how long the layover is before you pay extra for that convenience.

Visa and the new insurance rule

Most Indians need Georgia's e-visa, and it's checked per person. Whichever of you holds a valid, unexpired US, UK, Schengen, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Israel or Gulf-country visa or residence permit can skip it and enter visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day window. A partner without one still needs the e-visa. Confirm the current exemption list on the official e-visa portal before you rely on it.

Budget about USD 35 to 36 per person for the e-visa: a USD 20 consular fee, a 2 percent service charge and a mandatory USD 15 DuVerify identity check added in 2026. That's close to Rs 3,400 each, or about Rs 6,800 for both of you. Standard processing runs 5 to 7 working days, so apply with at least two weeks of buffer for a peak-season date.

Separately, and this is the part a package quote can easily leave out, Georgia has required every incoming tourist to carry travel insurance with at least 30,000 GEL, about USD 11,000, in medical and accident cover since 1 January 2026. It applies on the e-visa route and the visa-free route alike, has to cover your full stay including entry and exit days, and border officers can ask to see it on arrival by air, land or sea. I'd budget Rs 3,000 to 4,000 for a basic policy for both of you for a week, which is cheap cover against an awkward conversation at immigration. Read the coverage limit on whatever policy your agent bundles in. A policy that only lists USD 5,000 won't meet the threshold.

Three budgets, and where to stay

Budget: keep it simple

Skip the named boutique hotels. Book a well-reviewed guesthouse in or near Tbilisi's Old Town, a basic guesthouse in Stepantsminda (the town most people still call Kazbegi) instead of a place right against the mountain, and a simple family-run inn in Sighnaghi instead of a hilltop hotel. You'll move by shared marshrutka minibus or join shared day tours to Kazbegi and Kakheti rather than hiring a car for the whole loop. It's still a good honeymoon. You're just not paying for the room with the mountain view.

Skip this tier if that view is the reason you're going. A basic guesthouse in Stepantsminda may not face Kazbek.

Mid-range: where I'd point most couples

Spend four of the six nights in Tbilisi, two at the start and two at the end, in a small hotel close to Old Town so dinner is a short walk or ride away (Kopala, in Old Avlabari, is one option). Give Kazbegi one night at a mountain lodge. Rooms Hotel Kazbegi is the well-known one, and its front-facing rooms are the ones with the Mount Kazbek and Gergeti Trinity Church view, so ask for a front-facing room when you book. Give Sighnaghi one night at a boutique stay in the town itself. Kabadoni is the one I'd look at first, with a wine bar and a Sunset Lounge.

Hire a private driver for the Kazbegi and Kakheti legs rather than a shared van. Kazbegi is roughly 3 hours each way from Tbilisi and Sighnaghi roughly 2, so the extra few thousand rupees buys a car that stops when you want a photo, not when the group votes on it.

Splurge: go all in on two nights, not six

If you're spending big, don't spread it evenly across six nights. Put the money into the two that matter most: the Kazbegi suite with the mountain view and the Sighnaghi stay. The Signature Suite at Rooms Kazbegi has its own bathtub, and the hotel has a terrace for the view. It's worth the jump over a standard room because you'll want an evening in it watching the light change on the mountain rather than going out.

Pair that with one of Old Town Tbilisi's better hotels for the city nights and a private guide for both day trips, and add one splurge, a Kakheti wine-cellar dinner or a private evening at your Sighnaghi hotel's lounge. I wouldn't upgrade every hotel night to five-star. The Kazbegi lodge and the wine-country boutique are the two nights you'll remember.

What a Georgia honeymoon package should include

A quote that just says "hotels, transfers, breakfast" tells you almost nothing. Ask whether the Kazbegi and Kakheti days run on a shared van or a private car. That's the biggest variable in both price and how the day feels. A shared van waits for other guests at every stop and runs to the group's timetable. A private car waits for you.

Ask which dinners are included. Packages often bundle breakfast only, so budget separately for at least one proper dinner in Tbilisi (Old Town has strong options at every price point) and one at your Kazbegi or Sighnaghi hotel rather than hunting for a restaurant in a small town after dark.

Skip the add-ons that sound romantic on a brochure but are filler. A generic folk-show-and-dinner in Tbilisi is built for tour groups, not couples, and it eats an evening you could spend walking Old Town. Do pay for a proper Kakheti wine tasting with a local host rather than a rushed multi-winery bus tour. Kakheti rewards slowing down at one or two producers over ticking off five in an afternoon.

Which months suit a Georgia honeymoon

Late April to May and September into October are the strongest stretches. They suit this loop because Tbilisi and Kakheti stay comfortable without July and August's heat, and the road up to Kazbegi is usually open with clear mountain views. Kakheti's grape harvest, rtveli, runs from late August through September, when wineries are busy rather than running a routine tasting.

Avoid December through February unless skiing is the point of your trip. Kazbegi's road can close in bad weather, and that takes the mountain day off your itinerary. July and August work too, but they usually bring higher hotel prices and busier Old Town streets. Shift a month either side of peak summer and the same route often costs less.

Flying from Delhi or another city

The fare data behind this article is for Mumbai. Kayak's Delhi page shows round-trip fares from about USD 398, but from Delhi or any other city, check your own dates on a flight search before you trust the flight line, because the fare is the one number that changes with the city. The visa, insurance and on-ground costs stay the same wherever you fly from.

Price your own dates against the mid-range tier first. It's the one I'd pick for most couples once they choose a named hotel instead of a listing page's cheapest room. If two quotes for what looks like the same six nights come in far apart, check the flight routing, whether the driver for Kazbegi and Kakheti is private or shared, and which nights get the better hotel. That's usually where the gap sits.
