Bali Trip Cost for a Family of 4 from India (2026 Prices)

A family of four should budget Rs 1.9 lakh to Rs 4.3 lakh for five or six nights in Bali, as of September 2026. That covers return flights, a room that fits four, and the visa and levy for everyone, and nothing else. A driver, touring and food come on top, and how much depends on how many days you tour. Where you land in that range depends on the room setup you pick and your travel dates. Most Bali cost guides price two adults in one double room, so with four of you the room and flight maths is left to you. I did it three ways below, using listings and fares I checked on 23 September 2026.

What a Bali trip costs for a family of four

The three setups here use prices I checked on 23 September 2026 for two adults and two children aged 2 to 11: a family suite in Legian, a two-bedroom private pool villa in Seminyak, and two connecting rooms in a five-star Nusa Dua resort with a kids' club. Flights move around a lot by city and date, so that row is a range from the cheapest city I found to the priciest.

Room rates are for 7 to 13 November 2026. The flight range runs from the cheapest Diwali-week fare to the dearest May-June 2027 fare, and each total pairs the cheapest fare with five nights and the dearest with six.

The table stops at flights, room and the visa and levy on purpose. A driver and a touring plan add meaningfully more, and I'm not going to pretend I can divide a couple's package price by two and hand you an exact family number. Entry tickets are per head, rooms don't scale in neat multiples, and a family itinerary usually skips a few of the longer days a couple would do. The three packages on this page start from Rs 53,000 (four nights) up to Rs 1.7 lakh (five nights) for two adults, with hotel, private car and entry tickets included. Treat that as the shape of a touring budget for two, then ask for a family reprice rather than trusting a doubled number from me or anyone else.

The villa is what I'd book for most families of four. You get two separate bedrooms and a private pool for about Rs 12,000 more than the Legian suite over five nights, and roughly a quarter of what two connecting rooms cost in Nusa Dua. The Legian suite is the pick only if money is tight and you'll be out all day anyway. Two connecting rooms only earn their price if the resort's kids' club or brand name is the reason you're going, because you're paying for two rooms just so everyone has a bed.

How much do kids' flights really add

Not as little as you'd hope. I checked Bengaluru's Diwali-week fare both ways on the same nonstop, same dates: two adults alone came to Rs 96,958 return, and adding two kids aged 2 to 11 brought the family total to Rs 1,97,980. That's no child discount at all: the two kids' seats added Rs 1,01,022, a little more than the two adults' Rs 96,958. Budget a child's seat at a full adult fare, not half of one.

Across the seven cities I checked for Diwali week (around 7 November), return fares for two adults and two kids ran from about Rs 1.59 lakh out of Kolkata, one stop, to Rs 2.03 lakh on Delhi's nonstop, with Bengaluru's nonstop at Rs 1.98 lakh and Mumbai at Rs 1.99 lakh. For the May-June break I priced four of those cities for 29 May to 4 June 2027, and every one came in higher: Rs 1.92 lakh from Chennai up to Rs 2.88 lakh on Delhi's nonstop. Fares move week to week, so treat these as the shape of the market, not a quote for your dates.

The visa and levy: kids pay full price too

This is the one families forget to budget for, and it isn't small. Indonesia's official e-VoA page lists a flat IDR 500,000 fee for a stay of up to 30 days and says every traveller, infants and children included, must hold a separate visa, even if they're on a parent's passport. There is no child rate. The Bali tourist levy of IDR 150,000 works the same way: the official payment page shows no child discount either. Budget about Rs 13,950 for visas and levy for a family of four, roughly double what a couple pays, because neither fee gives a break for children.

The room options, and one package trick

Bali packages are almost always built for two adults sharing a double room, and the room types below show what changes when you're four.

A family suite is the simplest fix and the cheapest. Club Bali Family Suites at Legian Beach lists its rooms from about Rs 2,900 a night, and being purpose-built for families, one room should sleep your two kids without a rollaway. A standard package like the Weekend Getaway below is priced this way too. Its four nights are split between a Kuta double room with one queen bed and an Ubud one-bedroom pool villa, both sold for two adults, so a family of four would need to ask for extra rooms rather than assume these stretch.

A two-bedroom private pool villa is the upgrade I'd make. The Bali Dream Villa in Seminyak runs from about Rs 5,300 a night for two separate bedrooms and a private pool, a better use of money than two rooms and a shared hotel pool.

One more route, if you find it: a package already built bigger than a couple needs. The Adventure Explorers package starts with three nights in a 200 square metre, three-bedroom penthouse in Seminyak, quoted here for two adults. Ask to reprice it for two adults and two kids and, for those three nights, you're paying mostly for extra tour tickets and meals, since the penthouse is sold room only and already has the space. The two Ubud nights are a suite with two single beds, so ask what a second room or extra beds would cost there.

Nusa Dua's five-star resorts are the priciest way to sleep four, because you're usually booking two connecting rooms. Novotel Bali Nusa Dua Hotel and Residences, which guests specifically call out for its kids' club, runs about Rs 10,700 a night for one room, so two connecting rooms puts you near Rs 21,400 a night before you've toured anywhere. I'd only choose this if a kids' club and a big resort pool complex matter more to you than the money.

A private van, not just the package car

All three packages on this page book a "Standard (4 Seater)" car for airport transfers and touring days. That is exactly a family of four, with no room to spare for a stroller, a car seat or a grandparent. If you're travelling with a pram, a booster seat or extra people, ask for the 6- or 7-seat van upgrade when you book, not when you land and find four of you and the luggage don't fit.

How many days do you need with kids

Five or six nights. Anything shorter is a rush with young children, because the flight eats a big part of the trip and they need a recovery day that adults can skip. If you want a day-by-day plan to trim from, start with this 7-day itinerary.

The best kid-friendly days, and one to be careful with

Waterbom Bali is the easiest win on a family itinerary: a full day of slides and splash zones for two adults and two kids aged 2 to 11 costs IDR 2,200,000, about Rs 11,800, on the park's own ticket page as of 23 September 2026. It has a dedicated kids' play area, though the bigger slides need a height of about 100 cm and children under 11 must be with an adult, so a 2-year-old will mostly stay in the play area. Plan it as your one big water day.

Bali Safari and Marine Park is the other reliable family day. Its general day ticket, the Jungle Hopper, is IDR 750,000 per adult (about Rs 4,000) and IDR 620,000 per child for international visitors on the park's own price page. Resellers list children aged 3 to 12 at the child rate and under-3s free, so confirm the age cut-off when you book. Two adults and two kids comes to roughly IDR 2.74 million, about Rs 14,700.

Nusa Penida is where I'd be more careful with young kids. The fast boat from Sanur takes about 30 minutes, and Wikivoyage's guide calls the island's roads away from the north coast rough and, in remote areas, no more than stone-strewn tracks. The photo everyone wants, at Kelingking cliff, needs a rugged 400-metre hike down that the same guide recommends only for the fit and adventurous. It also warns against hiking between 10 am and 2 pm, because temperatures can hit 40°C.

I'd skip Nusa Penida with kids under about seven, or at least skip the Kelingking descent and enjoy the clifftop view instead. If you still want the island, book it as a package day like the Eco Trip below, so the boat, local lunch and snorkelling gear are arranged for you. That package includes the Kelingking stop and, on another day, a Tanjung Benoa water-sports session with jet ski and parasailing, so ask what can be swapped out for the kids.

Diwali week or the May-June break

Both work, and going by the fares I checked, Diwali week 2026 is cheaper than the May-June 2027 break. Of the four cities I priced for both, Chennai was only about Rs 4,000 cheaper in November, but Mumbai and Bengaluru were about Rs 72,000 cheaper and Delhi about Rs 86,000. Treat that with care: the November fares are six weeks out and the May-June ones are eight months out, so the gap can close or flip as your dates get nearer.

The other difference is weather. May and June fall in Bali's dry season, with mostly sunny days and low rainfall. Diwali week is where the wet season starts: an average November brings about 150 mm of rain over ten days, against 70 to 75 mm in May and June, so plan indoor backups.

Before you book

• Confirm the room sleeps four, or get two connecting rooms confirmed in writing, before you pay. A "family room" name isn't a guarantee.
• Apply for a separate e-VoA for each child on the official Indonesian immigration portal, even if they travel on a parent's passport.
• Pay the Bali levy for all four of you on the official Love Bali site before you fly.
• Ask for the van upgrade in writing if you need more than four seats.
• Check which entry tickets are already inside your package price and which ones you'll pay for on the day, since children are rarely free at paid attractions.

For a family of three, take one flight seat and one entry ticket off every line above. The room choice hardly changes, since all the setups here already have space for three.
