A Bangkok Pattaya package for four nights and five days costs roughly Rs 20,000 to 28,000 per person on twin sharing for the land-only version most agents quote first. A fuller version, with 4-star hotels, private transfers, a proper cabaret show, Safari World and a dinner cruise, runs about Rs 38,000 to 48,000. Add return flights from India and a couple should budget roughly Rs 72,000 to Rs 1.66 lakh for the whole trip. All prices here are approximate, as of September 2026. Two nights in Pattaya plus two in Bangkok is the classic split for a first short Thailand trip, and it works once you know which corners the cheap quote cuts.

What a Bangkok Pattaya package price includes

Quotes at the low end of the Rs 20,000 to 28,000 range usually make the same five trade-offs: a 3-star hotel with breakfast and nothing else, SIC (seat in coach) transfers on a fixed schedule, the Coral Island trip by public ferry rather than speedboat, one cabaret show booked at the cheapest available seat, and Bangkok's temples priced as bare entry tickets with no guide. None of that is dishonest, it is just the base version. Know that before you compare it with a costlier quote and assume you are being overcharged.

Add up the cheap column and you get about Rs 17,600 to 22,100, meals included. An agent's margin and taxes go on top of that, which is roughly how it becomes the Rs 20,000 to 28,000 you see quoted. The fuller column adds up to about Rs 34,600 to 46,000, and the same margin and taxes take it to roughly Rs 38,000 to 48,000 per person, still on twin sharing. That is the version I would book for a first trip. The gap comes from specific upgrades: hotel stars, private transfers, the speedboat, a better show, Safari World and the dinner cruise. SIC versus private, ferry versus speedboat: where the cheap quote cuts corners

SIC means seat in coach: you buy a seat on a shared vehicle that picks up from several hotels on a fixed route and a fixed time, not a car booked just for you. It costs roughly half of a private car, and for a couple or a solo traveller who doesn't mind a 20 to 30 minute pickup window, it's fine. I would switch to private only if you're travelling with parents or young kids, landing very late or very early, or you just want to leave and arrive on your own clock. On this route a private car for two, split between you, usually adds Rs 2,300 to 3,500 per person over the whole loop.

The ferry versus speedboat choice to Coral Island (Koh Larn) matters more than it looks. The public ferry from Bali Hai pier costs 40 baht each way (it went up from 30 baht in April 2026) and takes 40 to 45 minutes. It sails to two piers, Tawaen beach and Na Baan village, on a fixed timetable. Na Baan is the village side of the island, away from the main beaches, so you would need a songthaew or motorbike taxi onward. A shared speedboat costs about 300 to 400 baht each way, takes 15 to 20 minutes and leaves when the boat fills. If a full day on the beach is the point, pay for the speedboat. If you don't mind losing the best part of an hour and you check that your ferry is the Tawaen one, the ferry saves about Rs 1,500 to 2,000 for the round trip.

Between the two shows it is close. Alcazar tickets start from about 600 baht (Rs 1,700) on reseller sites, and Tiffany's from about 950 baht (Rs 2,700). Prices vary by seat and date. Both are a cabaret revue with elaborate costume changes, and both work as a one-off evening. I wouldn't pay extra to specifically get one over the other.

Safari World and Marine Park is the one add-on I'd push for if you're travelling with parents. The combo ticket with a buffet lunch runs about 1,150 baht booked online (about Rs 3,300) and more at the gate, so budget up to about 1,500 baht (Rs 4,300). Some listings specify an Indian buffet, which solves lunch for that day.

On meals: most land-only quotes at the cheap end price nothing beyond hotel breakfast, and the assumption is you'll eat street food or food court meals at roughly Rs 350 to 700 a plate. If you'd rather stick to Indian restaurants, which are easy to find in both cities, budget closer to Rs 700 to 1,300 a meal and add roughly Rs 1,500 to 2,500 per person to the trip total if you eat Indian most nights.

Flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bengaluru

Kolkata is the cheapest and shortest gateway to Bangkok by a clear margin, a little over two and a half hours direct. Delhi and Bengaluru sit in the middle. Mumbai is usually the dearest of the four. These are approximate return economy fares as of September 2026 for a booking made six to eight weeks ahead, outside the Christmas, New Year and Diwali weeks. Fares move daily, so check live prices for your dates.

The Bangkok to Pattaya road transfer is a roughly two hour drive and sits inside the land package, so it is not an extra on top of these fares. Put the flight and land numbers together and a bare-bones trip runs about Rs 36,000 to 63,000 per person depending on your city, and the fuller version I'd recommend runs Rs 54,000 to 83,000 per person. Double either number for a couple.

A 5-day Bangkok and Pattaya itinerary that doesn't waste a day

Day 1: Land in Bangkok and go straight to Pattaya, a drive of about two hours depending on traffic out of Suvarnabhumi. Check in, and keep the evening light: walk Beach Road, or Central Pattaya if you want the shops and food stalls.

Day 2: Coral Island, full day. Speedboat out early, spend the day on Tawaen beach, come back by mid afternoon and rest before dinner. In the evening, Alcazar or Tiffany's, whichever slot fits your dinner plan better.

Day 3: Check out of Pattaya and drive to Bangkok, but break the drive at Safari World and Marine Park, which sits on the north-east edge of the city and works well as a stop between the two rather than a dedicated day trip from central Bangkok. You'll get the drive-through safari, the marine shows and a buffet lunch inside the park, then continue to your Bangkok hotel by early evening. Safari World is closed on Mondays, so if Day 3 falls on a Monday, swap the park for a Day 4 visit or skip it. It closes between about 4 and 5 pm, so aim to arrive by late morning. The Chao Phraya dinner cruise leaves Asiatique at 8 pm with check-in by about 7:45 pm. Book it for this night only if you'll be at the hotel by early evening, otherwise push it to Day 4.

Day 4: Bangkok's core sights, best done early before the heat and the crowds build: the Grand Palace and Wat Pho in the morning, the ferry across to Wat Arun after. Afternoon is for whatever you didn't get to, Chinatown, a market, or just resting at the hotel before the dinner cruise.

Day 5: A last morning for shopping, Chatuchak if it's a weekend, or the Platinum Fashion Mall or MBK if it's a weekday, then head to the airport for your flight home.

How many days are enough for Bangkok and Pattaya

Four nights, the 2 plus 2 split above, is the realistic minimum that doesn't feel rushed, and it's what most Indian travellers book for this route. Three nights is doable but tight: you'll likely have to drop either Safari World or the dinner cruise, not both. Five or six nights lets you slow down, add a half day at Nong Nooch Tropical Garden in Pattaya, or a floating market morning near Bangkok, without turning any single day into a scramble. Past six nights on just these two cities, you're better off swapping one leg for an island.

Is Pattaya worth it, or should you swap for Krabi

Pattaya sells convenience, not beach quality. The water off Pattaya's own beach is not clean by Thai standards, and most of what makes the town worth two nights, the shows, Coral Island, the restaurants, the proximity to Bangkok, has nothing to do with the beach itself. If you go in expecting Krabi or Phuket levels of sand and water, you'll be disappointed. If you go in expecting an easy, budget-friendly, activity-dense stop that's two hours from Bangkok by road with no domestic flight needed, it delivers.

Swap Pattaya for Krabi (or Phuket) when your trip is seven nights or longer, when real beach time and snorkeling matter more to you than shows and theme parks, or when this is a honeymoon and the beach itself is meant to be the memory. The trade-off is a roughly 80 minute domestic flight each way from Bangkok, which adds roughly Rs 6,000 to 10,000 per person and costs you half a travel day on each end. For a first Thailand trip of four or five nights built around Bangkok, I'd keep Pattaya. For a beach-first trip, I wouldn't.

Visa, entry rules and the rupee to baht rate for 2026
