Singapore Trip Cost for a Couple from India: 5-Night Budgets

A Singapore trip for a couple from India costs roughly Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2.2 lakh for five nights, all in, as of September 2026. That assumes a clean 4-star in Bugis or Chinatown, return flights from Delhi or Mumbai, the visa and the activities you'll queue for. Spend one night at Marina Bay Sands and it moves to about Rs 1.7 to 2.6 lakh. Stay all five there and you're at Rs 2.6 to 4.4 lakh.

Every figure below is a total for two people sharing a room, not a per-person number you have to double. Prices are approximate and will drift with the exchange rate and the calendar.

Why couple pricing isn't half of family pricing

A family of four splits the taxi, the room and a private tour four ways, so its per-person figure looks small. Two people split the same fixed costs two ways, so each of you pays more, even though your total is lower than a family's. Being two also lets you skip the family staples. A full Universal Studios day is great if you both want it, but it's no reason to book one by default. One good Chinatown dinner is a better use of the same money.

Singapore trip cost for two: three 5-night totals

Here's what the same five nights cost depending on where you sleep. These are approximate, priced as of September 2026 at SGD 1 to Rs 75, and assume return flights from Delhi or Mumbai.

I'd book the middle option for most couples: four nights somewhere with character, Chinatown for food or Bugis for value and the MRT under your feet, and one night at Marina Bay Sands purely for the view and the infinity pool, which you only get if you sleep there. Five straight nights at MBS is a lot of hotel bill for a stay you'll mostly experience from the rooftop and the room. Five straight nights in Chinatown or Bugis is more trip for the money if neither of you needs the Marina Bay skyline as a backdrop for every photo.

Flights from Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai for two

For two people, budget Rs 50,000 to 90,000 return from Delhi or Mumbai, and Rs 36,000 to 60,000 from Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi or Kolkata. If you fly from the south or east, that takes roughly Rs 14,000 to 30,000 off the totals in the table.

These are off-peak figures. Add roughly 40 to 70 percent if you fly over Chinese New Year (it moves between late January and mid-February and lands on 6 February in 2027), the June school holidays or mid-December to early January. Hotel rates climb at the same time, so the flight isn't the only line that gets dearer, while Deepavali week mainly lifts flights from India. Book six to ten weeks out. Inside three weeks of a peak weekend you pay a premium on both the ticket and the room.

What a couple package includes and what it skips

Three fixed 5-night packages for two adults are shown below, and they're three different products. I've given the total for two adults, so if a card shows a per-person starting price, double it.

The first is land only, at about Rs 1.51 lakh for two as of September 2026. It has breakfast, private airport transfers and tickets for Night Safari, Universal Studios, the Oceanarium and Sentosa rides. You book flights yourself, so add Rs 50,000 to 90,000 on top.

The second is a fixed departure from Delhi with return Air India flights included, at about Rs 1.89 lakh for two. It uses shared coach transfers and a group city tour, so you give up some privacy and choice in exchange for a price that already has the flights in it.

The third has the same Delhi departure and price, with a cruise built in. Three nights are in a Novena hotel and two on the Star Dream Cruise with meals on board, so it swaps two land nights for ship nights rather than adding one. It drops Universal Studios and Night Safari from the ticket list, so pick it only if the ship itself is the draw.

What none of these include, so budget for it separately:

• The visa fee and agent charges (Rs 2,500 to 4,000 per person)
• Most lunches and dinners beyond breakfast (the cruise package includes meals on board)
• MRT or taxi fares once the airport transfers are done
• Travel insurance
• Tips and personal spending
• Express passes at the theme parks, and the MBS SkyPark deck if you go

Add roughly Rs 25,000 to 35,000 for two on top of the package price to cover this list, instead of finding it out a meal at a time. With that added, the land-only package plus flights comes to roughly Rs 2.3 to 2.8 lakh all in, and the flight-inclusive fixed departure to roughly Rs 2.1 to 2.2 lakh. Both land near or above the top of the first budget in the table, because they bundle more paid tickets than that budget assumes.

The couple extras worth paying for

Not everything with a ticket price is worth queuing for as a couple. If you're building the trip yourself, here's where I'd spend.

The Marina Bay Sands SkyPark Observation Deck lists adult tickets at SGD 35 in the daytime and SGD 39 from 5pm, roughly Rs 2,600 to 2,900 each at Rs 75 to the Singapore dollar. Skip it if you're staying at MBS, since guests get rooftop and infinity pool access included. Night Safari is the one after-dark activity I'd plan an evening around. Adult tickets are about SGD 58 at the standard tourist rate, roughly Rs 4,350 each. Take the tram first and walk second: the tram takes about 30 minutes, the last one leaves at 11.20pm, and it gives you the layout before you choose which trails to walk.

A Sentosa half day for two, cable car over and back, comes to roughly Rs 5,000 to 5,500 total. Add the Singapore Oceanarium (the former S.E.A. Aquarium), where adult tickets start from SGD 55, and that's roughly Rs 8,250 more for both of you. Add a sunset at one of the beach clubs and you're really paying a cover charge or a minimum spend rather than an entry fee, so treat that as a dinner-out cost, not an attraction ticket. A private one-way airport transfer for two typically runs SGD 45 to 60, about Rs 3,400 to 4,500, booked in advance. It's a convenience, not a need: a Grab or taxi from Changi is usually SGD 25 to 40 and the MRT is cheaper still. Book the private car only if you land late or tired.

What I would not pay extra for as a couple: the combo tickets that bundle four attractions to save money on paper. You'll use two of the four and feel like you overpaid on the other two. Buy Night Safari and one Sentosa attraction separately instead of a bundle built for a family with more stamina than you'll have after a day of walking in Singapore's humidity.

If this is a honeymoon

Singapore suits a honeymoon if you both like food, cities and easy logistics. It is not a beach honeymoon: Sentosa's beaches are pleasant but not private, so if quiet sand and a pool villa are the point, pick Bali or the Maldives and keep Singapore for a three-night city add-on. Tell the hotel it's a honeymoon when you book and ask what they include, but don't budget around a free upgrade. The middle budget above, four nights in Bugis or Chinatown plus one at Marina Bay Sands, is the one I'd pick.

Visa, the paperwork and what trips people up

Indian passport holders need a visa before flying to Singapore. It is not visa-free entry, and it is not available on arrival, so this has to be sorted before you leave India, not at Changi.

The High Commission of Singapore in New Delhi lists the visa processing fee at Rs 2,100 per application, and it isn't refunded if you withdraw or are refused. You apply through an authorised visa agent, whose service charge of roughly Rs 400 to 2,000 comes on top. That puts a single visa at about Rs 2,500 to 4,000, or Rs 5,000 to 8,000 for the two of you. Processing generally takes 3 to 5 working days, not counting the day you submit, weekends or public holidays, and some applications take longer. I'd apply two to three weeks before you fly, and earlier around Deepavali, Chinese New Year or the June holidays.

The visa's validity is only the window in which you can seek entry. Officers at Changi decide how long you can stay, and the e-Pass emailed to the address you gave on the SG Arrival Card shows your last day. That's no worry for five nights, but check the dates if you plan to add a Malaysia leg.

When to book so the couple total doesn't creep up

Singapore sits close to the equator, so the weather doesn't swing the way it does across most of India. It stays warm and humid for most of the year, with a slightly wetter stretch typically from November into January. What moves your total more than the weather is the calendar. Chinese New Year, the June school holidays and mid-December to early January push flights and hotel rates up together.

Two spikes are easy to dodge. One is the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix weekend, 9 to 11 October 2026, when hotels around Marina Bay jump sharply. The other is the late April to early June rush of Indian holiday travel.

I'd aim for a shoulder window instead: late September, then mid-October to early November once the Grand Prix weekend is over, ideally flying before Deepavali week (Deepavali falls on 8 November in 2026), or mid-February to mid-April after Chinese New Year. Book flights six to ten weeks ahead. That single decision does more to keep your couple total in the Rs 1.5 to 2.2 lakh band than any amount of haggling over the hotel once you land.
